First team vs Second team

It was for the Chelsea game, that the manager made some drastic changes in his first team selection. Arshavin was dropped, Theo replaced him. Djourou forced his way into the first team and Van Persie, fit again replaced Chamakh as the sole striker. It did kind of clicked...

  • We havn't lost a game since then.
  • We look more solid in defence.
  • There is a sense of competirion amongst the players, forcing them to perform well.
  • But we still lack the killer instinct.

The second teaam, the one which played against Wigan and Leeds, started with Arshavin, Bendtner, Szczesny, Rosicky, Denilson. The back four has always been interchanged. But in this team, only Szczesny seems to be fighting for first team spot. The rest, are playing like they don't care. The draw against Wigan and Leeds tells its own story. I could easily write a book on Arshavin's form this season. When he steps on to the pitch, I expect him to score atleast one goal. The four fantastic goals he scored against Liverpool comes to my mind.

Bendtner needs atleast two clear chances before he scores. I have no idea why he was mouthing about being afirst team player?? Rosicky is the ghost of the player we signed in 2006.

This so called second team has to put in those kind of performances which will auromatically make their way into the first team. Instead, they are playing with less heart and more ego.

Any kind of comments are welcome.
